General Fishing Rules
1. All landing nets, weigh slings, reception mats, weigh tripods are to be supplied by Gravel PIT LAKE.
2. Rods must not be left unattended at anytime (if you are more than 10 metres from the platform the rods are unattended).
3. Carp must not be sacked (make sure the sling, scales, bucket of water, and camera are ready to photograph any fish).
4. Minimum line breaking strain to be 17lb.
5. All hooklinks must be coated, i.e. kyston, fox etc.
6. Hook micro barb only.
7. You must have nash carp care (medi carp kit) or Propolis and all carp must be treated before returning to water.
8.The hook must have a line a liner, or shrink tube to protect the mouth of the carp.
9. Hook length to be detachable ie quick change swivel.
10. All rigs to have not less than 750mm of rig tube the lead clip must eject the weight upon a take by the fish, this reduced the mouth damage greatly.
11. Pictures of 40lb plus fish are to be taken in the water, waders, floating sling and floating mat are provided (Do not lift carp with landing net) place the sling provided under landing net top so that you lift the sling, net and carp as one onto the large mats provided boats.
12. The use of rowing boats is at your own risk (life jackets are provided and must be worn).
13. Bait boats are allowed, and are available for hire at 120 € a week.
Fishing Place
14. Fishing is from large platforms provided, 3 rods maximum from any platform.
15. No baits are to be brought to the lake, fresh boilies produced only to be used, Union Jack Baits by Andrew Bernard, a full list is available on request. Order 1 month before, necessary for manufacture.
16. Do not drink alcohol on the bank in excess. You will be removed from the lake if you have alcohol in your system as you are not insured whilst you are on our property (no lake is).
17. Change over day is Saturday. Anglers must be off the post by 12 o’clock am. Anglers coming onto the lake not before 1 o’clock pm. If you arrive just before dark, do not rush rods into the water (get to know the lake)
Drive and Survive
18. No BBQ, no fires. The storage of all food and bait is your responsibility. You must remove all your waste from the lake (bring bin bags). The use of gas stoves is permitted on platforms provided. There is a shower, toilet and water provided on site.
19. All anglers to have good experience with carp fishing. Do not bring a third angler just to make numbers up and pay the petrol (know who you are fishing with). Our priority is the health and safety of our fish, it will not be compromised.
Price and payment
20. The price for exclusivity of the Lake for 3 anglers maximum : £1000.
21. For booking £400 by transfer or Paypal, pay totality and sign this rule at the arrival.
